Be On Time:  When you say that you are meeting for dinner at 7 pm for instance, that means 7 pm.   A group can only travel as quickly as its slowest member and nothing ruins a trip more than having the majority of people wait around all the time.   To emphasize this point, let me tell you a story.   I was traveling in Mexico a few years ago with about 12 people.   People constantly showed up late for tours and meals.  The tour director made everyone else wait for them, as much as 45 minutes, for people to show up.   Every day thereafter, hours of valuable time was spent just waiting around for latecomers.    It was not a pleasant experience.   Then, on another trip to Spain with about 15 of us, at our first outing, the tour director said we were leaving at 8 a.m. He meant it when he left 4 travelers behind.   From that day forward, no one was ever late and we made the most of our time on the trip.

If You Get Lost on the Metro:   Let’s say you are traveling with four people.   3 of you get on the metro but the door closes before the last one in your party can get on.   At the very next stop, the 3 of you get off the metro and wait for the straggler to catch up.

If You Get Lost:  As a follow up to the last point, have a pre-determined plan as to where and when you will meet if anyone in your group gets separated.

Picking a Place to Dine:   When you let the dining decision become a group decision, everyone is usually unhappy with the restaurant.   Once the group decides on budget, let a different individual select a restaurant each night.   I guarantee that this will make everyone happy.

Splitting the Dinner Bill:  Don’t haggle over who had what.   Split the bill evenly by the number of diners.  Sometimes it will work your way, other times it won’t.  But it will probably all even out in the end.

Give Yourself Some Space:   If you want to do some touring by yourself, go ahead.   It can be difficult for a group of 6-10 people to go everywhere all the time together.

Don’t Leave Other Travelers to Fend for Themselves:    Don’t be cliquish and leave others out of your group.   If you are going to invite one person to go to the Louvre with you on Friday night, extend the invitation to anyone else who wants to go.

Re: Tips for Traveling With Groups in Paris

You are so right. We had a fight every night on deciding which restaurant to go to. There were 6 of us in the group and it was impossible to reach a consensus. I wish we had taken your advice and let each person have a night where they selected the restaurant, everyone would have been happy.

Seeking a bit of timeshare relief can be very easy if you find the right people to help you. If you have tried to sell a timeshare in the past, you know that the resale market is dead and the only way to cancel a timeshare is through the right people.
