The weather continues to be the superstar of the trip. Clear skies and moderate temps with a slight breeze make things comfortable. A day trip to Siena is in order today. Siena is located about and hour or so from Florence by comfortable bus. It leaves closeby from our hotel and provides a scenic view through Chianti.
The square, called "Il Campo" in Siena is perhaps the prettiest square in all of Italy. Its' red brick surface slopes downward to the impressive tower. It is surprisingly uncrowded. We watch weddings and other people just stroll about. I choose to take and extended lunch as I watch the world go by and our travelers report back to me of the beauty of this centuries-old and well preserved city.
Back in Florence, it is time to get ready for our farewell dinner. It's not hard to find a good, inexpensive restaurant. This time we pick Belle Donna for another authentic Tuscan meal of chicken, fresh salads, lamb, beef, pasta and of course some wine.
It is Saturday evening in Florence and the streets are full of people strolling the long, wide boulevards. Street entertainers (a mime, then an opera singer) perform under the full moon. If the world did end today, I would be very happy in that I have experienced what I did here in Florence.

On our last small group tour of Italy, about half the group (4 of us) took a 2-day extension of the trip to Venice. It exceeed my expectations in that it is more romantic than I could have possibly imagined. Venice is one of those unique places on earth because it really is a city built into the sea.
