Here are two of my favorite flea markets:

Les Puces de Paris
Métro: Porte de Clignancourt or  Porte de St-Ouen
This is the mother of all flea markets.  It might just be the largest in the world.  Not only do they have the typical trinkets that you will see in any flea market, they have clothes, furniture, street food, cutlery, and just about anything you can imagine. Open Saturday through Monday from 7:30 am to 6 p.m.  It is enormous, but savvy flea market shoppers go to the smaller market at Porte de Vanves. Website: http://www.parispuces.com/

Marché aux Puces de la Porte de Vanves
Located on avenue Georges Lafenestre & avenue Marc Sangnier.  Métro:  Porte de Vanves.
This is a bit more familiar to the type of flea markets that I have been used to visiting.   This is a smaller  flea market but the vendors at les Puces de  Paris can often be found here buying merchandise for their larger market.   Open weekend mornings.

Re: Paris Flea Markets

If you know a little French buy newspaper Le Parisien (paris edition)
Fridays and check local "vide-greniers" under headline Brocantes in the section with suggestions for the weekend.
Vide-grenier is a kind of garage sale only much more of a local junk sale in the street only on weekends.
Cash only.
As for the flea market at Porte de Vanves and Les Puces de Clignancourt some take credit cards.
Best transportation to Clignancourt (immense): take bus 85 and get off in the midst of it all at rue des Rosier.
Clignancourt is not cheap at all but lots of fun if you like fine linens furniture paintings old books.

Edit Re: Paris Flea Markets

In May, 2008, I treated myself to a private guide for one day in Paris and she showed me a great street "marche" in a residential section of southern Paris. This market is near the Convention Metro stop on Tuesdays (and I think Thursdays too, but am unsure) from 9 to around 1. Food, flowers, clothes, shoes, bags, jewelry, scarves, and all sorts of things are sold there at very low prices. I bought a very unique and large scarf with applicaes and embroidery all over it in one stall for about 20 or 30 euros. Besides the beauty of the item, I get loads of compliments every time I wear it; plus, when people ask where I found it, I reply, " Oh, I found it in a little street market in Paris!" I also bought lots of good but cheap gifts for my daughters there too. Just get off at the Convention stop on Tuesday morning and look for the stalls up the street!

The Paris Video Blog - Pere Lachaise Cemetery
Paris' Pere Lachaise Cemetery is one of the most visited burial places in the world.  It is the final vacation spot for such luminaries as Rossini and Chopin, Simone Signoret and Yves Montand, Edith Piaf, Marcel Proust, Alice B. Toklas and Gertrude Stein, Jim Morrison, Oscar Wilde, Max Ernst, Isadora Duncan and many more.   It is certainly worth a visit.  But if you can't get there right away, take a look at this video.
