 I was walking down Michigan Avenue in Chicago and I came upon the Tribune building. It was completed in 1925 in a neo-Gothic style of architecture. It eerily reminds one of the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris. Prior to the completion of the building, correspondents for the Chicago Tribune brought back stones and bricks from some of the most important and significant structures in the world. These stones are actually incorporated into the wall of the Tower. Among those stones are a fragment from the Cathedral of Notre Dame and a stone from the Arc de Triomphe (on the Tribune Tower it is called the Arch of Triumph). There are stones from many different locations other than Paris.
A little bit further down the road at Millennium Park, I noticed a metro entrance that looked quite familiar. I wonder if I need to transfer from the Van Buren street station in Chicago to get to the Eiffel Tower?
