Like all good guides, Heather listens to what her clients have to say before she plans an itinerary.  I like the fact that she sees each traveler as being different instead of just saying to them, “These are the top sites you must see”.   She has everyone fill out a detailed questionnaire before planning a customized itinerary just for them.

For instance, I recommended Heather as a guide for a mother visiting Paris with her young teenage daughter who was interested in fashion.    She wrote to me, “I was impressed that she (Heather) could combine an in depth knowledge of Paris with her sense of what would be appropriate for myself and my 13 year old teenage daughter”.

In my conversations with Heather, I find that she certainly knows more about Paris than the typical tour guide.   She is fluent in French, has been a journalist specializing in France, and Paris guide book author.  She has written for top guide book publications like Fodor’s, Time Out, Expedia, France Magazine and The London Times.    Her restaurant recommendations are spot-on.   She originally gave me the tip for the super-romantic “1728” in the 8th arrondissement.

One area that I have absolutely no expertise in is shopping in Paris.   I think Heather knows more about this than Carrie Bradshaw knows about shoes.   Plenty of useful information about Paris, including hotels, activities, and other secrets can be found at Heather’s website, http://www.secretsofparis.com.    It’s one of the best Paris resources on the web.

I recently met Heather and she is such a wonderful American woman living in Paris and wanting to share her secrets with her compatriots. She was so funny talking about her speaking problems in French when she arrived in Paris that's why I published a post in my blog on her :

For travel information you can check Paris travel guide. I found it very useful and complete. Even the schedule and the price for each attraction. There are a lot of nice places to visit and the guide will tell the story of each one. You should visit at least The Eiffel Tower in Paris and Arc de Triomphe in Paris

Best regards,
Brian
