Usually when we take group trips to Paris, some travelers put aside a day to go to one of the two outstanding flea markets. In general, I have found Paris flea markets not to be inexpensive, but the vendors will haggle on price. My strategy is to determine to myself what I will pay for something, offer about 20% less, and only buy the item if the vendor has met my pre-set price.
Here are two of my favorite flea markets:
Les Puces de Paris
Métro: Porte de Clignancourt or Porte de St-Ouen
This is the mother of all flea markets. It might just be the largest in the world. Open Saturday through Monday from 7:30 am to 6 p.m. It is enormous, but savvy flea market shoppers go to the smaller market at Porte de Vanves. Website: http://www.parispuces.com
Marché aux Puces de la Porte de Vanves
Located on avenue Georges Lafenestre & avenue Marc Sangnier. Métro: Porte de Vanves.
This is a smaller flea market but the vendors at les Puces de Paris can often be found here buying merchandise for their larger market. Open weekend mornings.

On our last small group tour of Italy, about half the group (4 of us) took a 2-day extension of the trip to Venice. It exceeed my expectations in that it is more romantic than I could have possibly imagined. Venice is one of those unique places on earth because it really is a city built into the sea.
