Group Travel to ParisI have vivid memories of the first time I traveled to Paris.  I walked through passport control at CDG airport in Paris, tired, jet-lagged, but excited.   I remember saying to myself, “what do I do now?”   Where is the train into the city?  How about the bus?  Whenever I asked someone a question, they answered me in a language I could not understand.    I was totally confused and frustrated.

The things that caused me the most trouble were the simple things.  For instance, when the metro stopped, I didn’t know you needed to lift a latch for the door to open.  I missed my stop.   When I went to order a cup of coffee, the vendor asked me a question in French – I didn’t know how to respond.
In retrospect, I probably should have gone on some type of tour or accompanied someone who knew Paris.  In this blog, I will talk about the pros and cons of organized tours and why you should, or shouldn’t take one.
